Snowshoeing Tours are being offered!
Conditions: Snow coverage can be spotty depending on exposure but it is gettng better and better. There is a hard base underneath crusty snow and new snow which is falling heavy at the moment. Our tour areas are just fine, the snowshoes providing excellent traction in variable snowpack and in some places ice. The backcountry forest is gorgeous. Definately will have a good base this week and for the weekend of Jan 31-Feb,1.
Forecast: No thaws in the forecast with potentials for a winter storm ending Tuesday morning bringing an add'l 4-8 inches. More snow leading up to the weekend on Thursday and Friday. Long term forecasts keep getting revised colder and snowier for February
Will we have a another 80+ inches of snow in March like last year?
Stay tuned for updates on xc skiing at Herrington Manor.
